Vlerick Business School offers training for future leaders and entrepreneurs, where a healthy classroom is essential for a quality learning environment. Steven Clemminck, operations manager, sought a partner for a centralized indoor air quality monitoring solution with adequate support.

Problem Statement
There was a need for proactive monitoring of the indoor climate in all classrooms. In addition, the solution had to be independent of Vlerick’s existing Wi-Fi or Internet infrastructure.O

Our solution
Cadis chose LoRaWan technology, which sends small data packets up to 10 km to a central gateway. The Cadis Indoor Environment Monitor (CIEM) was used for this purpose, with built-in LoRaWan and a 10-year battery life. The data is sent through the gateway to a network server for processing and retention.

“As the facilities department of the renowned Vlerick Business School, one of our major challenges is to be able to keep the courses going in reliable high-quality halls. So for our 3 campuses, we were looking for 1 centralized solution that could ensure that we could proactively monitor the indoor climate of our classrooms. Because of the very large impact of indoor climate on the experience of an educational program in a classroom, we found it necessary to not be able to rely solely on the measurements provided by our HVAC control tools. Cadis was the only company that came up with a solution that covered all our main needs: affordable, in the cloud, everything under their management (HW, installation, follow-up cloud tool, monitoring, recovery, full path possible without IT, ….).”
