Job Description

Cadis is an ambitious, flexible and growing company specialized in making buildings more sustainable by offering solutions as an integrator in the fields of energy and water. We design, supply, install and maintain systems for preventive leak detection and consumption monitoring in the Benelux and France based on a wide range of sensors and electronic modules. With these, we help our customers save energy and prevent water losses.

As an R&D engineer, you and a few colleagues will be responsible for co-developing our applications and systems, and you will regularly join customers to install our products or troubleshoot problems.

We are growing rapidly in the field of IoT (LoRaWAN). We install, configure and maintain private LoRaWAN networks to collect consumption data from meters. We manage the collected data in our own database, process it and use it for various end applications

We also develop our own data loggers and modules, the development of which is done by the R&D team. You will support the team in the development of new releases, testing and production of modules.

You work mainly from our office in Kontich, regularly you will take care of installations at our customers or go to the customer to solve issues with our products. We work in a close team, where you get freedom, trust and responsibility.

You will have a varied job: in addition to troubleshooting and development, you will also be active in engineering, support, working out new ideas and prototypes.

We are a small and flexible team, where a lot is possible and you have the space to make your own mark on the organization.

You are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues and actively acquire new knowledge, as well as work with your own productivity targets. You see problem solving as a challenge and not as a problem in itself.

Knowledge

  • Minimum:
    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent through experience) in Electronics/ICT, Electromechanics, IoT
    • Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably in:
      Python, HTML/CSS, Javascript, Rust, SQL, C/C++, PHP, …
  • Nice to have:
    • Familiarity with databases, APIs, networking, IoT and/or building automation
    • Experience with Django, Flask or FastAPI
    • Knowledge about DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience with Linux environment
    • Experience is desirable, but not required in case of drive and talent
    • Driven in writing clean, maintainable code
  • Problem solving ability and eagerness to learn is more important than experience in specific languages or frameworks. We would love to hear how you have faced and overcome challenges in the past.
